This award recognises the Operations Team that can demonstrate extraordinary teamwork and show examples of how they went the extra mile to deliver their objectives. If you think your team has something to shout about, then tell our judges about it and you might just pick up a much-deserved award for your life sciences excellence.

Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Please provide evidence of specific outcomes of the team's activities: Has the activity impacted a company's core business or future strategies OR the sector itself. If research based how many publications or citations for publications have been produced, products brought to market, invention disclosures, patents, licenses and spin outs have occurred? How much funding did you achieve? This can include investment from R & D entities, governmental support or funding achieved by outside agencies such as EU or commercial partners.
  • Contributions Made by the Various Team Members: What are the contributions made by the various team members? What is the scale of effort in terms of manpower, time and materials? Describe the demography / composition of the Team.
  • Specific Training Objectives Achieved by the Teamwork: Have there been any specific training objectives achieved by the teamwork?
  • Originality of the research/work/ field trials carried out: How does your work compare to everybody else’s? How competitive is your product, service or research either internally (if a Multinational Company) or vs peers in the sector?
  • Scientific Depth of the Project and Level of Innovation: What is the scientific depth of the project and level of innovation? What is the degree of innovation demonstrated specifically by the teamwork, and does it have commercial potential?
  • Potential Impact of the Technology/Product/Process to the Sciences: What is the potential impact of the technology/product/process to the sciences? Are there commercial market applications and implementations? What are the technical, societal, environmental, or other benefits arising from the work? What is the opportunities potential for the technology or research?
